NTT claims largest software-defined network

NTT Communications is launching a software-defined network portfolio it says has the largest SD-WAN footprint in the world. The company's NTT SD-WAN Service Portfolio covers 190 countries, locally distributed around the world using more than 75 local cloud centres, in what NTT says is the first 100% software-defined network.

The company has ramped up SDN on the back of its acquisition of Virtela in 2014. The new network promises flexibility and speed in launching new services for customers.
