Arrow targets cloud security with Tenable API, SDK deal

Arrow Electronics is to distribute Tenable's cybersecurity products and solutions across the EMEA region, as the vendor makes a big play for the cloud security market.

Last year, Tenable launched Tenable.io, its Cyber Exposure platform to provide visibility into any asset on any computing platform, including public cloud environments.

Tenable.io delivers an application programming interface (API) and software development kit (SDK) to help customers and partners simplify the export and import of vulnerability, asset, threat and other data. Its technology is also integrated into other vendors' systems, including CyberArk and ForeScout.

“New connected architectures and technologies based on cloud and IoT open up a plethora of new security risks to organisations of any kind,” said Nick Bannister, senior director and head of networking and security at Arrow’s enterprise computing solutions business in EMEA.

“Tenable is one of those great examples of new disruptive players in the security space which address the challenges of our new connected world with innovative, sophisticated approaches, based on visibility and insight,” said Bannister.

David Cummins, vice president of EMEA sales at Tenable, said: “Digital transformation has brought new technologies — cloud, IoT, containers and web apps — to computing environments that increase efficiency and agility. But these technologies also add to an expanding attack surface that introduces new cyber risks on a daily basis.”

Tenable says it has over 24,000 worldwide customers, including over half of the Fortune 500, over a fifth of the Global 2000 and large government agencies. US-headquartered Tenable has regional offices in both the UK and Germany.
