Dell sales rise in Q3, driven by products

Dell Technologies lifted revenues 15% on a headline basis and grew all segments by double-digits for the third straight quarter in its Q3 earnings report.

Operating loss was $356M on a GAAP basis; non-GAAP operating income was $2.1B (down 2%).
Dell says it "continues to see revenue synergies through the collaboration across the Dell Technologies family of businesses"; VMware revenues grew 15%, consistent with Dell overall, while other business (Pivotal, Secureworks, RSA Security, Virtustream and Boomi) grew about 5%.
Revenue breakout: Products, $17.63bn (up 17%); Services, $4.86bn (up 9%).
Revenue by segment: Infrastructure Solutions, $8.9bn (up 19%); Client Solutions, $10.9bn (up 11%); VMware, $2.2bn (up 15%).
In infrastructure, storage rose 6% to $3.9bn and servers and networking rose 30% to $5.1bn. In Client Solutions, Commercial revenue was up 12% to $7.6bn, and Consumer revenue up 8% to $3.3bn.
