Data centre expansion in Sweden

DigiPlex has received planning consent to create 6,000 m2 of data centre technical space, reshaping a former factory site in Upplands Vasby, Stockholm, Sweden. This will become Stockholm’s first wholesale data centre offering over 20Mw of power, from renewable hydro and wind sources, for both retail and wholesale space.

EPAM growth continues, 25% expected yr/yr

Eastern European integrator/developer EPAM saw Q1 revenues rise to $160.4m, up 29.1% year-over-year, and up 1.8% sequentially, better than had been predicted.

Riverbed up after good channel, Europe results

Riverbed Technology's Q1 showed sales up 8% yr/yr, driven by good channel and European performance. The network optimisation and app performance company showed total GAAP revenue for Q114 was $265m up 8% compared to the first quarter of 2013, as data centres look for maximum performance.

Network cables boost shows European trend

Cables and associated items distributor Anixter has reported a slight sales increase to $1.52bn for Q1, it says. Despite the negative weather impact in the months of January and February and excluding the impact of copper pricing and foreign exchange, organic sales increased by 3.8%:

TIBCO buys Jaspersoft

TIBCO Software has bought Jaspersoft Corporation, effective immediately. Jaspersoft is now a product group within TIBCO and the name will continue in this form.

Telekom Austria stokes up European plans

Telekom Austria has bought almost half the spectrum on offer in a Slovenian auction for €64m. Its Slovenian unit, Si.mobil, plans to cover half the Slovenian population with fourth-generation LTE technology for faster internet by the end of the year.
