Beta Systems buys German data centre business

Complementary products; shared resources will create earnings gains, it says

Beta Systems is buying German HORIZONT Software GmbH. For over 20 years, Horizont has developed and marketed software for large data centre operations. Its products include Beta Systems Data Center Intelligence (DCI). This acquisition strengthens the position of both companies in this business. The complementary technical expertise and combination of sales channels offer new development opportunities, it says.

Arne Bassler, director of strategy and communications at Beta Systems: "The organisation, infrastructure and Beta Systems technologies create parallel growth opportunities for HORIZONT".

Beta Systems acquired all the shares from the previous shareholders HORIZONT and it joins the Beta Systems Group as an independent company. Josef Dirnberger and Uwe Hahm, executive directors, continue their long-term commitment to the company: "The acquisition by Beta Systems brings HORIZONT excellent business prospects as well as comprehensive technological resources for future product developments. Our customers will benefit from this synergy by having access to the combined world of our products. "

The two companies have agreed not to disclose the terms of the purchase contract. Beta Systems claims more than 1300 customers worldwide covering governance requirements, risk management and compliance (GRC). The company is headquartered in Berlin and markets its products worldwide through its 14 subsidiaries and a network of partners.
