Top management shake-up at ALSO

Europe's largest independent distributor ALSO is expanding its group management, increasing the Executive Board from 1 July 2015 to four instead of three as in the past. Torben Qvist, former Senior Vice President Supply Services and Member of the Executive Committee has resigned, due to his relocation to Asia, but he has been replaced by two new names, Ole Eklund and Stefan Klinglmair, who were part of the company's MORE recovery strategy.

Torben Qvist (below) had been a Senior Vice President at ALSO for just over a year, having been Managing Director with predecessor Actebis Computer for nearly 15 years. As of July 1, 2015, the members of the Group Management are: CEO Gustavo Möller-Hergt, Ralf Retzko, Ole Eklund and Stefan Klinglmair.


Danish Ole Eklund worked previously at Ingram Micro, Magirus and Avnet and joined in 2008 as Sales Director for Scandinavia. He is a new member of the Executive Committee and will be responsible for Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Sweden and the Netherlands as well as being Managing Director, ALSO Denmark.

Austrian Stefan Klinglmaier joined in 2007 and from 2010 was Head of Commercial Distribution for the company. He is responsible for the companies in Germany, France, Austria and Switzerland and continues as Managing Director of ALSO Germany.

"We are accelerating the strong management team with broad operational experience and implementing strategic and operational measures," explains Chairman of the Board and CEO Gustavo Möller-Hergt.

 

Torben Qvist will continue in an advisory function; also being given responsibility for customer acquisition and the evaluation of new product lines in the Asian region He has held various positions in the company for the last 15 years and the board “deeply regrets his departure and thanks him for his valuable and long-standing contribution”. Volkan Weissenberg will assume his role as vice president, Partner Management. The other responsibilities of the Executive Committee remain unchanged.
