Anodot has unveiled a new business unit, ‘Umbrella’, aimed squarely at helping managed service providers (MSPs) gain tighter control over cloud costs for their customers. The new unit brings together Anodot’s cloud financial operations (FinOps) capabilities into a single, dedicated platform that simplifies cost management and optimisation across complex multi-cloud environments.
As cloud adoption accelerates, so too does the need for MSPs to offer more sophisticated cost governance solutions with Gartner suggesting end-user spending on public cloud services is projected to hit $723 billion by 2025. Umbrella addresses this by providing a platform that includes Bring Your Own Data (BYOD) functionality—allowing users to import a wide range of cost and usage data for a unified view of spending. It also includes a GreenOps dashboard for monitoring AWS carbon emissions and power consumption, as well as a savings plan simulator to help forecast and optimise AWS compute costs.
“Since launching our cloud cost management offering in 2021, we’ve seen consistent demand for a FinOps solution that can help enterprises and MSPs better manage their growing cloud bills,” said David Drai, CEO and co-founder of Anodot. “Our goal has always been to build an all-in-one, AI-powered platform for managing cloud spend, where everything our customers need to observe, optimize, and automate is connected under an ‘Umbrella.’”
Anodot currently works with 20 partners globally, including UK-based Claranet, which migrated from VMware’s CloudHealth platform to Anodot’s solution towards the end of 2024. The move reflects a broader trend among MSPs seeking modern, flexible platforms that offer deeper analytics and automation to meet evolving client demands.
