Motorola to create 200 jobs with new R&D hub in Cork

Telecoms provider Motorola Solutions is opening a new research & development (R&D) centre in Cork, Ireland, creating 200 skilled jobs. 

Formed after the 2011 spin-off of Motorola Mobility, the company acquired Tetra Ireland Communications in 2022. 

Supported by IDA Ireland, the new facility will develop software for its global land mobile radio (LMR) portfolio, with plans for expansion across other technologies in the future.

Motorola Solutions has invested over $12bn in R&D and acquisitions over the past decade including $85m in 2023.
