Managed service provider Nasstar is scaling up its UK operations with the acquisition of KCOM’s ICT services business for an undisclosed amount. The deal swells Nasstar’s staffing to over 1,000 employees, enhances its voice and connectivity capabilities and adds cloud expertise around Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure.
“KCOM will form a vital part of Nasstar’s growth strategy, and it will be integrated into the business, adopting, efficient, and scalable systems, and enabling customers to access an enhanced product set,” explained Wayne Churchill, CEO, Nasstar.
“We recognise the value and opportunities the combination of KCOM’s people, capabilities and customers represent and we are confident our strategy will turn this potential into long-term growth and success,” he added.
Nasstar plans to take advantage of KCOM’s national channel partner network.
KCOM also adds significant contact centre expertise to Nasstar’s existing portfolio.
However, KCOM will retain its wholesale and retail assts in Hull and East Yorkshire.
“We have agreed the sale of our national business to Nasstar. Our regional wholesale and retail business in Hull and East Yorkshire will remain part of KCOM. Our team is investing GBP£100 million to expand our regional network, through which we are making full fibre broadband available to consumers and businesses in towns across East Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire.”
