UK distributor Northamber has expanded its cybersecurity presence in Europe by acquiring Irish security VAD, Renaissance Contingency Services.
This marks Northamber’s first cybersecurity acquisition and its second purchase in 2024, following the acquisition of UCC distributor Tempura in April.
Alex Phillips (pictured), Executive Chairman of Northamber, noted, “There is a very strong alignment between the values and approaches of the two companies and the importance we place on proactively bringing Cyber Security solutions to our partners."
Renaissance brings extensive expertise and industry-leading partnerships to Northamber.
Phillips added, "Combined with our recent acquisition of Tempura Communications group, which has subsidiaries in Ireland and the Netherlands, we can now offer our core technologies of AV, UC, cyber, and network infrastructure in Ireland.
“We will continue with resource investment and a focused geographic expansion into target markets around these core technologies and our core vendors."
Michael Conway, MD of Renaissance, commented, "To sustain our growth ambitions and to further enhance our value to the vendors that we represent and to our clients and their customers whose cyber protection is the priority, we concluded that being acquired by Northamber was the most effective way to achieve this.”
