OVHcloud is in exclusive negotiations to fully acquire the German edge computing company, gridscale.
The purchase accelerates its geographic expansion and entry into the edge computing market.
Gridscale's team will join OVHcloud, enhancing the Paris-based firm’s offerings with edge computing.
OVHcloud CEO Michel Paulin said: "The combination of our different technologies will allow us to accelerate our deployment of Edge computing solutions and our geographic expansion while optimising our capital allocation."
The acquisition will also amplify OVHcloud's on-premises cloud services, with new cloud zones anticipated by 2026.
The deal will finalise in early 2024, with no impact on 2023's fiscal results.
