Redcentric the target acquisition for Italian cloud services firm

Cloud infrastructure services provider Redcentric is the target of a potential takeover by Italy cloud service provider Wiit, which also operates in Germany.

North Yorkshire, UK-based Redcentric says it is in the “early stages” of discussions with Wiit, regarding a possible offer for the entire issued and to be issued share capital of Redcentric.

“Discussions are at a preliminary stage and there can be no certainty that any offer will be made, nor as to the terms of any such offer,” the firm added.

Wiit has been given until 5pm GMT, on 21 June, 2024, to state its intention to acquire the company or not.

“If a firm offer were to be made, it would likely be in cash,” said Wiit.

Wiit is listed on the Euronext Star Milan exchange segment, and offers hosted private and hybrid cloud services. It operates its own data centres in six regions - four in Germany and two in Italy.

Wiit has six SAP certifications at the highest level of specialisation.
