Schneider Electric to create 200+ jobs with £42m Yorkshire facility

Energy and automation digital solutions provider Schneider Electric is investing £42m facility in Scarborough, North Yorkshire, creating over 200 jobs to support the UK's renewable energy goals.

Opening in 2025, the plant will be net-zero for Scope 1 and 2 emissions, using advanced technology to reduce energy waste.

Kelly Becker, President at Schneider Electric, UK & Ireland, Belgium & Netherlands, said: “The new facility in Scarborough represents a pillar of innovation in net-zero, and one which will be an industry benchmark for the transition to sustainable, energy efficient buildings.”

The French multinational currently has a workforce of 450 employees at its Scarborough location.

Along with a £7.2m upgrade of its site in Leeds, Schneider plans to create over 300 jobs in Yorkshire over the next decade.
