Turkish delight for the European storage channel

IT Europa attended this week’s IT Press Tour in Lisbon, Portugal to find out what new channel openings were available in the data management and storage space.

Earlier, we reported on opportunities for resellers being created at Cleondris and Nuclia. Another one to keep an eye on is NGX Storage, a vendor headquartered in Ankara, Turkey, and looking to ramp up its channel footprint across EMEA.

The high-end storage company already has partners in markets including Turkey, India and North America, and began its channel scale-up in the UK and Ireland with a distribution deal with Exertis this October.

While that deal is pan-European, the vendor is also looking to sign up partners in other European countries.

It’s hardware is sourced from both Turkey and Taiwan, before being assembled in Ankara. It has regional offices in both Bangalore, India and Vancouver, Canada. Customers include the Turkish and Qatar governments, and Türk Telekom is also a customer.

NGX eliminates the need for multiple systems for different workloads. With NGX, the same system can be used for multiple protocols – block, file and object – as well as across a wide range of performance requirements.

These include demanding transactional workloads that are extremely performance-sensitive, to archival applications that are highly sensitive to density and cost.

NGX’s bundled predictive analytics capabilities protect protocols from crashes and other issues through continuous automatic inspections for system errors. NGX Support Portal uses AI/ML to provide insights, guidance and actions, so businesses can easily improve system availability, security and performance.

The company says its technology can handle up to 20 petabytes of data using only two controllers via a single system. While the company provides hardware and software, it will soon be launching a software-only version of its storage management solution for cloud workloads.

Beyhan Çalışkan, CEO at NGX Storage, said: "We are looking to increase our channel business over the next 12 months, using existing partners and new ones to be announced in Europe.”

As well as Exertis, the company already has a key partner in Italy, and Çalışkan confirmed there would be new ones in Germany, France and the Iberia region, for instance, to come.
