Accenture makes another acquisition in AI services

Global business services and consulting firm Accenture is continuing its busy acquisition trail with the capture of Mudano, a strategic data services consultancy to financial services firms.

The acquisition enhances Accenture’s analytics, data and artificial intelligence (AI) transformation capabilities. Last year, in the same field, Accenture acquired Spanish analytics services firm Pragsis Bidoop. Headquartered in Madrid with additional offices in Barcelona and the UK, Pragsis added more than 200 employees with deep machine learning, artificial intelligence and big data engineering experience to Accenture’s Applied Intelligence business.

Mudano’s team of data professionals will also join the Accenture Applied Intelligence unit. Mudano was founded in 2014 and is headquartered in London, with an office in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. This January, Accenture also acquired DACH SAP services specialist maihiro. The Munich-based firm is a provider of customer experience and customer relationship management consulting, optimisation and ongoing enhancement services.

That deal came on the back of over 30 other Accenture acquisitions made in the digital space over the last 12 months.

One of the biggest was Accenture's purchase of the Symantec cyber security services business from Broadcom.
