Polish distributor ABC Data has finished shutting down its German subsidiary ABC Data Germany GmbH as announced last year due to changes made to its business strategy.
According to the board, the German branch had been inactive for some time therefore its closure will have no significant impact on the company’s current operations.
In June last year ABC Data revealed its business plan for years 2016-2018 which stressed the need for a shift in its business model in Germany according to which the customers should be served directly by ABC Data in Poland. The German subsidiary was running all the company’s distribution operations of software and hardware for the local clients.
The process of introducing the new business model in Germany was carried out and completed in July 2015. The Polish distributor established ABC Data Germany by the end of 2013. At the beginning of 2015 the German subsidiary saw a departure of its key personnel, including the Country Manager and the Head of Sales.
