Distributor Exertis IT has acquired Apple Authorised Service Provider Group 8, which is a specialist in support and repair services for Apple products.
Established for over 20 years, UK firm Group 8 provides maintenance of macOS/iOS products, server infrastructure, day-to-day administration, and common application software support.
Exertis IT currently offers circular economy services via MTR Group, its subsidiary company, which specialises in the refurbishment and resale of mobile devices, and offers Samsung-accredited refurbished handsets.
Rod McCarthy, group managing director, said: “The acquisition of Group 8 is a fantastic addition to Exertis IT’s group service strategy. With circular economy regulations on the horizon, Group 8 joining our business is an integral part of our strategy to progress our business, and those of our customers.”
Group 8 business owners Terry Fannin, Veronica Child and David Meehan will continue working in the business.
Last October, Exertis formed two main divisions, covering business and consumer, to more tightly target the markets it serves.
“The dedicated divisions, with integrated sales and commercial teams, will result in a streamlined approach, simplifying operations, ensuring a more seamless experience for customers, and delivering faster support and enhanced collaboration,” said Exertis at the time.
The business division focuses on AV, components, IT solutions, mobile, and print. The consumer division majors on the retail product and solutions market.
