Motorola Solutions has acquired video security and analytics firm Ava Security, to expand its international cloud-based video services offering.
Based in London, Ava Security provides enterprises with real-time visibility and analytics to detect anomalies and threats, while minimising the physical footprint of their security infrastructure.
The value of the deal has not been disclosed. Ava will form part of Motorola's video security and access control unit, alongside the Avigilon, Envysion, Openpath and Pelco businesses, and also Edinburgh-based IndigoVision, which Motorola acquired for £30m in 2020.
In addition to allowing organisations to easily access, search and manage their entire system from a centralised dashboard, Ava's self-learning algorithms enhance enterprise security by detecting abnormal behaviour and alerting operators to events in real-time.
“Our acquisition of Ava highlights our continued commitment to advancing cloud-based video security technologies,” said Greg Brown, chairman and CEO of Motorola Solutions. “With Ava, we’re well-positioned to support our customers’ evolving security needs by expanding our portfolio of intelligent video solutions that help to enhance safety and streamline operations.”
“We look forward to building upon Motorola Solutions’ industry-leading video security and access control portfolio, providing customers with advanced ways to protect their people and enhance their operational insights,” said Tormod Ree, CEO of Ava Security.
