Channel-first data storage platform TrueNAS intends to expand in Europe with a bigger sales and support footprint, on the back of “record-breaking growth” in 2024.
TrueNAS is both a software-defined storage system supplied as a “community” or “enterprise” edition, or loaded onto the firm’s storage appliances, which the company assembles itself.
On the recent IT Press Tour across Silicon Valley, we were told at the company’s Campbell, California headquarters there had been 104% growth in the deployment of the TrueNAS Community Edition; 900% growth in NVMe storage capacity supplied, powered by F-Series All-NVMe flash systems; and a 4x rise in enterprise deployments worth over $1m.
As far as our region was concerned, there was 39% sales growth in EMEA, hence the need for the company to expand its channel efforts in our market. It competes with flash storage giants including NetApp and Pure Storage.
"TrueNAS is redefining what’s possible in open storage by delivering enterprise-grade reliability and security at a fraction of the cost of traditional vendors,” said Brett Davis (pictured), EVP of TrueNAS. “With our focus on customer needs and service, we’re uniquely positioned to help organisations address data growth and budget challenges.”
One of the new solutions that the growing EMEA region can now sell is the TrueNAS H30, a high-performance, adaptable storage solution designed for organisations of any size “that demand speed, flexibility, and efficiency”, said the supplier.
The H30, unveiled on the IT Press Tour, is the latest addition to the TrueNAS H-Series appliance line-up, and combines NVMe and HDD support in each bay, 100GbE networking, dual-controller High Availability (HA), and FIPS 140-certified security in a low-power 2U form factor.
"As data demands surge and edge computing evolves, organisations need storage that balances speed, scalability, and security,” said Davis. “The H30 sets a new standard for adaptable, high-performance storage, giving businesses the flexibility to expand without compromising efficiency or budget."
The TrueNAS H30 adds “twice the performance” of its H10 and H20 siblings in the H-Series product line, we were told, and is engineered to support demanding edge workloads, offering unified storage support for file, block, and object storage applications, and Docker apps.
