11:11 Systems has strengthened its cloud and security capabilities by entering into an asset purchase agreement for the sale of Sungard Availability Services’ cloud-managed services business.
As a part of the deal, Sungard AS’ team of employees specialising in cloud management, customer service, AWS and Azure professional services and cybersecurity will join the firm. 11:11 will also retain part of Sungard AS’ back-office and administrative teams.
Brett Diamond, CEO, 11:11, said: “This transaction is a natural fit to enhance and strengthen our existing data centre footprint, technology stack and services.”
The deal will also extend 11:11's footprint to 13 additional cloud PoPs, the firm said.
Justin Giardina, CTO, 11:11, added: “Sungard AS’ expertise in providing cross-platform cloud deployments and management will contribute to our future development which includes taking compliance, scalability and availability to the next level as we help our customers manage, optimise and protect their mission-critical cloud environments.”
The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
