Airtable appoints Zoom channels veteran to step up partner play

Connected apps and cloud collaboration vendor Airtable has appointed Zoom channels veteran Laura Padilla (pictured) as its new partners chief, as it expands across the EMEA region.

In her role as VP for partners she will define Airtable’s channel strategy and develop programmes to maximise value and impact for partners and customers, said the firm.

As part of that strategy she and her team will launch and build a formal partner programme for system integrators, value added resellers, consultants, developers and ISVs, that will scale globally to thousands of partners worldwide.

The partner programme will be beneficial to Airtable’s customers and partners. Customers will have more services and support resources available to them to ensure they’re maximising their Airtable deployments and getting the most value possible from the platform.

Airtable’s partners will have access to the over 300,000 organisations that use Airtable globally and the opportunity to build “lifetime relationships” with these organisations, the company said, as they help make Airtable an integral part of customers’ most critical workflows.

“Airtable already has a strong following of consultants who love the product and see the power of its platform,” said Padilla. “We plan to leverage their feedback and learnings as we tap into the strong communities our partners have built and scale our partner efforts globally.

“Airtable has the opportunity to leverage partners to drive massive growth for the company, and I look forward to rapidly scaling the company’s partner programme.”

She brings experience in building out partner programmes and ecosystems at companies including Zoom and Nutanix. Most recently, she served as head of global business development and channels at Zoom, where she helped drive massive revenue growth and channel reach.

Airtable’s connected apps platform enables teams to modernise their business processes, and this February it announced its expansion into the EMEA region with the opening of its first international headquarters in London.

With plans to hire nearly 70 people across sales and support functions by the end of 2022, the expansion will enable more people around the world to create applications for their teams that previously required “deep technical skill or significant IT investment”, the firm said.

At the time of the opening, US-based Airtable said it was seeing growing global demand, with 60% of new registrations coming from outside the US.

Although it was the first time the company had hired dedicated teams in the region, Airtable said it had already gained “significant traction” across EMEA, with more than a quarter of Airtable users based in EMEA. This included Monzo, LVMH and Red Bull relying on the company’s low-code tools to power critical workflows.

Airtable appointed Tony Cheema as vice president for EMEA, after having spent nearly two decades in customer engagement and sales leadership roles at Oracle, Box and Datadog.

Other Airtable customers include Amazon, Baker Hughes, IBM, Netflix, Nike, Restoration Hardware and Under Armour.
