Alcatel-Lucent opens wireless Innovation City

Paris centre "transformed" for communications and broadband

Alcatel-Lucent has announced it has transformed its operations in Paris into an ‘Innovation City’ that hosts R&D teams and start-ups and encourages innovation, collaboration and entrepreneurship by promoting projects with partners and customers as well as with the engineering schools and universities.

Innovation City aims to become the number one wireless centre for Alcatel-Lucent in the world and offers support to customers throughout all phases of deployment. The facility hosts small cells teams of around 100 experts.

The projects run by the centre include an exclusive partnership with JCDecaux to integrate small cells in cities as part of network improvement, the launch of the Cloud RAN project and a strategic alliance with Accenture to help communications service providers (CSPs) and large enterprises implement ultra-broadband solutions.
