Aparavi to build EMEA channel with new CEO

Unstructured data management vendor Aparavi has launched a European subsidiary in Munich, Germany, and appointed a Microsoft channel veteran to lead it.

Gregor Bieler (pictured), former general manager and member of the executive board at Microsoft Germany, is the new CEO of Aparavi EMEA. Bieler will use his channel experience to secure and help support Aparavi partners across the region.

At Microsoft, Bieler was responsible for expanding the partner business, which accounts for more than 90% of sales. Prior to Microsoft, he held management positions at both PayPal and Logitech Europe and was CEO of the mobile payment provider Unwire.

Bieler is part of several international advisory boards, including IT services provider Dustin in Stockholm, Sweden, workforce IT provider ATOSS in Munich and GlobalLogic, a product development expert in Silicon Valley.

The Aparavi Platform is based on intelligent machine learning. Thanks to the “intuitive UI”, said Aparavi, companies can “easily” discover, classify, optimise and exploit their data “without needing in-depth IT knowledge”.

Bieler said: “Every company should have greater insight of their data and know with certainty how to use it profitably for itself to secure competitive advantages.”

Adrian Knapp, founder of US-based Aparavi, added: “Gregor's global market expertise, experience with partners, the channel and enterprises - from mid-sized companies to DAX corporations - is the ideal mix to help us with our mission.”
