Digital services group Ascent has entered the German market directly by acquiring Tekaris, a software development house with data analytics and cloud integration capabilities.
Munich-based Tekaris was established in 2010 and has grown to around 70 employees and €8m in revenues from a customer base that includes Munich Re and 1-2-3 TV.
The German capture joins business hubs across Europe, including the UK, Malta, Bulgaria and Portugal. Tekaris’ founders and managing directors Konrad Pfeffer, Robert Rimmele and Josef Stegschuster will become part of Ascent’s leadership team
Stewart Smythe, CEO at Ascent, said: “Establishing Ascent in the German market has always been a critical part of the plan. Tekaris is easily one of the most technically mature businesses we have encountered, and the strength of its vertical focus is very attractive.
“We’ve been working in partnership with them for a number of months and have been impressed by the quality of their work and people, whose relationship with the day-to-day business context of their customers is really exciting.”
Ascent’s customers include BrewDog, Hive, Radio Times, BDO and the England and Wales Cricket Board.
