Rubrik, a data backup specialist, is building up its EMEA operation, with distribution, reseller and support networks. It has named Karl Driesen as Head of EMEA Sales. He is a former VP EMEA at Palo Alto Networks and built a team of over 200 employees and a $200m business in five years. Most recently, Driesen was a Vice President with Elastica.
It says it has experienced rapid customer growth in North America, and is launching its operations in response to customer and partner demands in EMEA. Rubrik’s Converged Data Management software powers the Company’s r300/r500 Series appliances which deliver automated backup, recovery, replication, and data archival. It has signed European and Middle Eastern distributors such as BigTec, Commtech, and Evanssion.

Rubrik recently raised over $51m from Greylock Partners, Lightspeed Venture Partners and others.
