Bechtle has agreed a long-term partnership with e-shelter and will move most of its internal IT systems from its headquarters in Neckarsulm to the e-shelter locations in the Frankfurt (Main). The systems and their operation remain the property and the responsibility of Bechtle.
The dual-site strategy and relocation aims to ensure safety standards, scalability and high availability. In addition, the change of location allows direct access to the German Internet exchange DE-CIX. Bechtle so is also increasing technical requirements, offer hosting of customer systems and a range of cloud services.
The "Bechtle Clouds" activities of Bechtle including private cloud solutions, Bechtle managed cloud solutions and public cloud offerings that are bundled and orchestrated by Bechtle. The portfolio also provides for the transfer and operation of data centre customers. The operation and all customer data systems remain within Germany and the responsibility of Bechtle.
In its buildings e-shelter has created highly available environments that meet redundant systems requirements and an integrated facility management infrastructure with physical security and technical availability. In addition to three locations in Frankfurt e-shelter is also present in Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, Vienna and Zurich. In total, e-shelter has about 95,000 m² of data centres in Europe.
