Bechtle has signed a commitment letter for the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi), aiming to adhere to climate goals and undergo regular international audits.
After submitting their targets, the German reseller will have them verified by the SBTi based on current climate science consensus.
The SBTi, supported by organisations such as the CDP, UN Global Compact, WRI, and WWF, helps businesses align their emission goals with the Paris Agreement and current climate science.
This move enhances Bechtle's Sustainability Strategy 2030, with the company having two years to set and validate its targets through SBTi.
Bechtle's journey towards sustainability began in 2011, leading to the Bechtle Sustainability Code in 2013 and the Sustainability Strategy 2030 introduced in August 2021.
