CDW reports big growth for the year

VAR and services provider CDW Corporation has announced a big growth year in its annual results, covering the US, the UK and Canada, with sales up 12.7% to $20.8 billion for the 12 months to December 31, 2021.

Total net sales in the fourth quarter went up 11.7% year-on-year to $5.54 billion, which included $197m of sales from the acquisition of US company Sirius Computer Solutions, which closed on December 1, 2021.

Quarterly Sales for CDW's UK and Canadian operations combined were $699m - 19.5% higher than 2020. Annual sales for the UK and Canadian units totalled $2.59bn, up 24%.

The total group operating income in the quarter was $339m, representing an increase of 2.1%.

Net income was $215m, representing a decrease of 9.7%, partly as a result of a higher tax rate when compared to last time.

The total annual group operating profit was $1.4 billion – up 20.3%, and the annual net profit was $989m, representing a 25.4% jump.

“Our strong performance demonstrated the power of our business model with balance across customer end markets and our product and solutions portfolio,” said Christine Leahy, president and chief executive officer of CDW.
