BGF-backed managed service provider Celerity has strengthened its senior team, with the appointment of Julie Redfern and Michael Gowen to the board of directors.
Gowen (pictured) joins as chief revenue officer, after formerly holding roles at the likes of Flow, Daisy and Dimension Data.
Redfern joins the firm as chief financial officer, having worked at a number of private equity-backed and owner-managed businesses, including NSS, Citation and Latitude.
Craig Aston, chief operating officer at Celerity, said: “These are two significant hires that demonstrate our commitment to invest in talent and build a strong and multi-skilled team to help drive growth.
“Our ambition is to become one of the leading providers of future-focused IT solutions to dynamic and highly regulated companies, and Julie and Michael will play a pivotal role in ensuring we reach the next stage of our growth journey.
“Over the next few months we intend to expand our team further to help meet our strategic aims.”
In the last 12 months, Celerity has seen a 37% increase in the number of employees. This follows the £15m investment in November 2021 from BGF.
Harry Jones, investor at BGF and a member of the Celerity board, said: “The appointment of Julie and Michael sets down a real marker for the business and demonstrates continued progress when it comes to executing on the ambitious plans laid out when we invested in Celerity.”
