Cisco is "expanding and fostering its innovation programme" in the UK by growing its centre for research and emerging technology to tap into Internet of Everything (IoT) market, it says.
The London centre is a part of Cisco’s network of IoT Innovation Centres, Cisco CREATE, and will create a platform for start-ups, experts, developers and researchers to develop technology solutions that will be leveraged across the energy, transport, healthcare and education sectors.
“Cisco CREATE and our innovation programme are built on principles of partnership, open innovation and ecosystem which empowers others to innovate. We’re extremely proud of what Cisco CREATE has achieved, which is why we are delighted to be announcing the trebling of the programme at our new facility in Hackney,” comments Chief Executive, Cisco UK & Ireland, Phil Smith.
Cisco recognises the UK’s IoT market potential for future business opportunities and reminds that the UK government committed itself to earmark over £45m for IoT technologies development.
Cisco CREATE programme was started in 2011 to facilitate the industry collaborations both in the London IoT Innovation centre and across its sites in the country. The company’s IoT centres can also be found in Spain, Germany, Brazil, South Korea and Japan.
