Cloudflare, the US-headquartered internet optimisation and security solutions vendor, has opened an office in Munich to support its DACH region partner business. This is the company's second office in Europe after opening its European headquarters in London.
The Munich move will help grow brand awareness, acquire customers, recruit new talent and widen partnerhips, said the company. Cloudflare says it is planning further expansion in the EMEA region as it continues to grow its network solution beyond 150-plus data centres globally.
“Munich, a hub of technology innovation and business, seemed like an obvious choice,” said Matthew Prince, co-founder and CEO. “Opening an office in Munich presents a unique opportunity to be closer to our customers in the fast-growing DACH market.”
“It gives us excellent value in terms of features, security and performance,” said Dirk Fiebiger, team manager of IT at network performance management services provider Paessler AG.
Cloudflare’s first head of DACH, Stefan Henke, will oversee and lead the company’s sales in Germany and the broader DACH region. “Although digitalisation started late in the DACH region, it is now booming across all verticals and there is huge demand for services,” said Henke.
“Cloudflare is able to protect, accelerate and optimise anything connected to the internet and is also able to shift computing functions to the edge of the public network as an edge network vendor.”
The other offices are in San Francisco (global headquarters); Singapore; Austin; Champaign, Illinois; New York and Washington DC.
