Compunet acquires Irish IT services firm KD Systems

Irish cloud and managed service provider Compunet has acquired IT services company KD Systems for an undisclosed amount.

Based in Cork, Ireland, KD systems claim to offer extensive managed services and customer base support, particularly in the education sector.

The combined entity will see all existing roles integrated, with additional recruitment in Helpdesk and Project support, as it seeks to combine and support its growing customer base.

“KD systems are proud of its track record in providing long term trusted and reliable IT solutions for our customers, and we are now strengthened by the integration with Compunet,” said Ken O’Donovan, director of KD Systems. “We look forward to increasing the portfolio of existing services to our customers, particularly in the Cloud transformation area.”

The acquisition comes as Compunet has experienced significant growth over the past decade, becoming a trusted IT partner in the SME sector and an enterprise partner to several Cork-based multinationals. As a Microsoft Gold Partner and Azure specialist, Compunet said it continues to deliver cloud transformation services for customers both new and existing customers.

Tony Healy, director of Compunet IT Solutions, added: “KD systems and Compunet are both built on a customer-first, hard-working, no-nonsense brand of IT delivery and we are delighted to join forces with what is a formidable team to expand our customer base, as well as increase our presence in the education sector.
