Exertis has named Jonathan Sutherland as its retail sales director, as the company combines teams.
He has been at Exertis for 14 years, and has held the role of sales and commercial director for Microsoft and gaming, based at Exertis’ Harlow office, for the last 18 months.
A focus of his expanded new role will be to create “cohesion and unity” between the Basingstoke and Harlow sales teams, and to “strategise” how Exertis best structures the consumer sales business to maximise opportunities moving forward, said the distributor.
Sutherland (pictured) said: “I look forward to working with the excellent teams in Basingstoke and Harlow. As we move forward with one retail team, it will allow us to use the wide skillset we have across all product areas, to deliver an even better service to our customers and vendors.”
Mike Buley, chief of sales at Exertis, added: “The teams at Harlow and Basingstoke will now report to Jonathan, who already has strong relationships with many of our customers.
“His leadership across consumer will ensure we benefit from best practices across both teams, driven by his people-first approach and an easier escalation path for our customers.”
