Exertis Group appoints global diversity & inclusion programme lead

Technology distributor Exertis has appointed Kim Lonas as global diversity & inclusion programme lead, who will report directly to Tim Griffin, DCC technology & Exertis Group’s managing director.

Lonas (pictured) has been at Exertis North America for six years, having most recently served as HR director of Exertis North America. Since joining Exertis North America, she has helped drive the firm’s D&I agenda and has been a contributing member of AVIXA’s Diversity Council for the past three and a half years.

Lonas is also co-lead for DCC’s Inclusion & Diversity project workstream and co-chair of the AVIXA Women’s Council of Western New York.

“I am honoured and excited to become the first person to assume the position of global diversity & inclusion program lead for the Exertis Group,” Lonas said. “The creation of this new position within the company is a testament to Exertis’ commitment to making diversity and inclusion a core part of our corporate culture.”

In this newly created position, Lonas will be tasked with driving the development of Exertis’ diversity & inclusion (D&I) strategy. This involves evangelising and managing the implementation of the strategy across the division while embedding ownership and accountability within each business through the leadership teams and the Global Diversity & Inclusion Council.

Lonas will play a key role in actively encouraging broader cultural and positive change with a particular focus on how the business serves underrepresented groups, and make sure every voice is heard.

“This is a crucial role and will prove to be a catalyst for accelerating our journey towards an even more equitable, diverse and inclusive workplace, where everyone can unleash their full potential,” added Griffin. “I am delighted to have Kim take on this challenge from North America, reflecting our ever-increasing international business.”
