Global cloud jobs recruitment firm is founded through acquisition

European IT recruitment group Focus Cloud has acquired specialist Microsoft recruitment firm Cognitive Group to form a larger cloud technology jobs operation.

Together, they have formed a new brand, the Focus Cloud Group, which will provide global recruitment solutions across major cloud platforms from the likes of Microsoft, Workday, SAP, Salesforce and ServiceNow, as well as those serving the life sciences and cyber security industries.

The new group will be headed by CEO Lloyd Gordon, the founder of Focus Cloud, and current chairman of Cognitive, Jonathan Wright, will become the chairperson for the new enlarged group.

Lloyd Gordon said: “When I set the business up in 2015, I did so with one thought in mind, to build a global cloud recruitment powerhouse. Despite the global pandemic hitting a few years later, the company has gone from strength to strength.

“Throughout Covid, we focused on doing everything we could to support not only business growth, but also our clients, candidates and our people. We stuck to our promise to retain our staff and even hired those who had been made redundant by other recruitment firms, resulting in the firm coming out of the pandemic in such a strong position financially that it made this acquisition possible.”

He added: "The solutions we're able to offer have diversified since the company's inception, so moving into the Microsoft recruitment space was a natural step for the business.”
