Greenhouse Datacenters wants to grow partners

Netherlands-headquartered Greenhouse Datacenters has opened a new data room at its Greenhouse DC 2 data centre near the Rotterdam/The Hague area to boost capacity for colocation partners and service providers. And Greenhouse has also appointed Guido Sip as it chief commercial officer to further develop its ecosystem of partners.

The expanded Naaldwijk facility - one of two globally connected data centres the company owns - is located near the world’s largest flower and plant exporters and the many greenhouses in the Westland region, hence the company's name.

The new data room has added around 4,500 sq ft of colocation space, equating to a further 260 data centre racks. Two data rooms were already in use at Greenhouse DC 1, and now DC 2 has two as well. The company says it is now also planning the construction of Greenhouse DC 3 in the same area as the others.

Guido Sip has been hired from fibre network provider Relined, where he was director of sales and marketing. Sip said: “Greenhouse has grown rapidly in the last few years, but without a significant focus on sales though, and mainly based on delivering technical and process-based quality at a competitive price which has sold itself.

“My goal is to build a solid sales strategy and enhance market visibility worldwide for the high-quality colocation services that Greenhouse offers from the Netherlands. The next step is to further shape the partner and customer ecosystem for further business expansion.”

Lennert Vollebregt, co-founder of Greenhouse Datacenters, said: “I know Guido from his former job role as a board member of Relined. He is an outgoing personality focused on networking and has a good view on ecosystem thinking and the creation of partner opportunities.”

Greenhouse expects to further raise interest in its “ecological colocation services”. It offers services with a power usage effectiveness (PUE) value of 1.2 working to the ISO 14001 standard (environment & sustainability).
