Global Technical Realty (GTR) has acquired its first data centre site in Spain, expanding its European operations.
The site, located in Cerdanyola del Vallès near Barcelona and financed by KKR, provides access to regional interconnection points and subsea cables.
As the area's neutral digital hub, the station will activate three new cables from 2023 to 2025, connecting EMEA.
Franek Sodzawiczny, Founder and CEO at GTR said: “We plan to provide a data centre that will service cloud requirements in a highly secure facility, utilising renewable energy sources.”
