IGEL reports big growth as partner ecosystem meets the security challenge

End user computing (EUC) channel vendor IGEL is in the process of announcing almost 25 new products, services and upgrades for partners at its annual Now & Next conference in Miami, Florida, as it reports big growth through its enlarged ecosystem.

IGEL CEO Klaus Oestermann (pictured) told customers and partners present: “We have relaunched the company and are becoming more visible in our industry as we grow our reach in the MEA, Eastern Europe, and APAC regions, among other territories, and we expect to reach 45% ARR growth this year.”

He added: “We are a 100% partner company, and while endpoint OS is still our core product, partners are benefiting from our expanding data security offering. Our Preventative Security Model [to help stop threats before they happen] is now supported by 100 technology partners, with us adding 20 in the last year. Together, this ecosystem and our channel partners can offer next generation defence.”

Among the new products and services name checked by Oestermann, were Adaptive Secure Desktop, to help manage older versions of Windows, IGEL Insights to streamline the way reporting data is delivered to protection teams across multiple cybersecurity tools and platforms, and the Preventative Security Model for OT/IoT, allowing both types of data in these environments to be managed together.

He confirmed the main areas IGEL wanted to address going forward on behalf of partners and customers were security prevention, financial (TCO), and manageability.

Other new launches on day one of the show today (Tuesday) were IGEL Managed Hypervisor, extending the life of critical legacy applications while modernising IT and OT infrastructure.

The offering enables “seamless” integration with converged IT and OT networks, supporting network segmentation and zero trust architectures to reduce attack surfaces and enforce strict access controls. With IGEL Ready partner integration, remote troubleshooting, and security updates, it ensures high availability and operational continuity for critical environments, including those that could otherwise be trending towards obsolescence, or in need of a costly hardware and software overhaul.

IGEL says it has “successfully tested” the new hypervisor with devices from IGEL’s three top platform partners, HP, Lenovo, and LG.

The hypervisor supports remote management, centralised policy enforcement, and integration with IGEL Ready ecosystem partners, giving IT teams more control and flexibility across hybrid infrastructures. With the ability to securely isolate legacy workloads, it promises to be a key enabler for zero trust strategies while preserving mission-critical business operations.

Omnissa, the end user computing spin-out from VMware, also presented from the keynote stage. It recently launched a new partner programme, and announced a new integration with IGEL.

Omnissa Workspace ONE, an AI-driven unified endpoint management (UEM) solution, will now support both IGEL OS and the new IGEL Managed Hypervisor. The two companies have also enhanced their existing integration between Omnissa Horizon and IGEL OS to deliver better visibility and security on Horizon Cloud desktops.

As enterprises manage the complexity of hybrid work and continue their shift to zero trust models, Omnissa and IGEL say they are deepening their commitment to help customers increase employee productivity by enabling “fast, seamless, and secure” access to critical regulated applications and data in virtual desktop environments. Both Workspace ONE and Horizon run on the Omnissa AI-driven digital work platform, which delivers additional insights and value across the company’s UEM and VDI and apps solutions.

By combining IGEL’s secure endpoint OS with the Omnissa Platform, enterprises can more easily walk away from costly legacy desktop and app virtualisation point solutions, and adopt modern technologies that deliver better visibility, management, and security of employee access to critical regulated apps and data, we were told.

“At Omnissa, we believe the best solutions come from strong partnerships,” said Bharath Rangarajan, senior vice president of products and technology alliances at Omnissa. “By working closely with IGEL, we’re helping organisations accelerate their move away from legacy VDI and app delivery models, and adopt a more modern, cost-effective and secure approach to desktop and app virtualisation and device management.”

Following the VMware spin-out, Rangarajan told us that Omnissa currently had 26,000 customers and 4,000 staff.
