Keepit expands global reach with new UK HQ

Denmark-based cloud backup vendor Keepit is expanding its global footprint with a new UK HQ in London, under the leadership of industry veteran Jerry Mumford (pictured), VP for the UK, Ireland, and MEA regions.

This marks a significant step in Keepit's growth, complementing its existing presence in the US, Canada, Germany, Denmark, and Australia.

At Technology Live! event in London, hosted by A3 Communications, Mumford emphasized this development as a key move to build on their current base, partnerships, and customer network.

He said: “We currently have 12 or so signed partners in the UK all of whom buy directly from Keepit. We are rolling out an accreditation programme within our network which will be dependent on levels of training both within sales and technical. We have recently hired an EMEA distribution manager who will be implementing a distribution network.

“We have scaled the employee count from 3 to 8 from end of November to today. I expect that number to grow to 10-12 by the end of the year.”

Launched in 2007, Keepit has experienced growth, particularly in the UK, with a consistent 100% year-over-year increase over the past three years, a trend it aims to continue in 2024.

Globally, the company serves around 7,000 customers across 74 countries, including 300 in the UK. It also has seven data centre regions, featuring two key centres in Slough, UK.

Mumford added: “Our data centres in the UK are entirely operated by Keepit and are not touched by the public hub. The approach we take is to maintain two copies of your data at both our data centres."

He revealed plans for opening a new data centre in Switzerland, set to launch on March 1st.
