Oracle has posted second-quarter results going up to 30 November, 2024, showing that sales were up 9% year-over-year in constant currency, reaching $14.1 billion.
Cloud services and licence support revenues – representing over three-quarters of the total – rose 12% to $10.8 billion. Cloud licence and on-premise licence revenues grew 3% to $1.2 billion.
-Infrastructure services firm Kyndryl has signed a strategic agreement with Co-operative Bank to migrate its existing on-premise applications to the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud. The bank aims to bring down costs and improve service delivery as a result.
-Cybersecurity services player NCC Group has reported results for the 16-month period ending 30 September, 2024, following a change to the company’s financial year end. For the full 12 months to 31 May, 2024, total sales at constant currency were down 0.8% to £324m. There was an operating loss of £21.5m.
With the extra four months of the 16, up to 30 September, total sales stood at £430m. But there was still an operating loss of £19.2m.
- Juniper Research says the global over-the-top (OTT) business messaging market will increase from $2.4 billion in 2024 to $3.7 billion in 2025.
The analyst predicts the “rapidly evolving” market will face substantial disruption as new technologies enhance user experiences. For instance, click-to-chat ads were identified as a key feature attracting enterprises to OTT channels.

-Analyst Dell'Oro Group says AI is boosting the data centre Ethernet switch market. According to its third quarter, 2024 report, companies such as Arista, H3C, Nvidia, and Celestica are experiencing double-digit revenue growth.
“The increase in sales was primarily driven by AI infrastructure build-outs, particularly among cloud service providers,” said Sameh Boujelbene, VP at Dell'Oro Group.
While investments in AI-related technologies in non-cloud segments “remain limited”, over 20m advanced Ethernet switch ports have been shipped year-to-date. Dell'Oro projects double-digit growth for 2024 overall, and anticipates “further acceleration” in 2025.
