NetApp has appointed Piero Gallucci as its new vice president and general manager for the UK and Ireland. He replaces Chris Greenwood, who is moving to a new role as vice president for Western Europe Enterprise at the cloud data management vendor.
Gallucci (pictured) joins NetApp from his role as vice president for VMware’s Tanzu EMEA unit. He will take responsibility for several hundred UK&I employees.
As part of NetApp’s EMEA and LATAM leadership team, he will report to Giovanna Sangiorgi, who was recently appointed as senior vice president for the two regions.
Gallucci said: “NetApp is one of the technology leaders currently redefining cloud and I'm delighted to join at this important moment in the company’s transformation journey. I look forward to supporting the digital transformation of NetApp's UK and Irish customers, taking full advantage of the hybrid multi-cloud opportunities available.
“I am also delighted to join at a time when we’ve just opened our international headquarters in Cork. I look forward to visiting soon.”
Sangiorgi added: “Our customers and our partners have a great supporter helping them in their development and transformation.”
Last week, NetApp announced the opening of its new international headquarters in Cork, Ireland. The office is in Navigation Square within Cork’s Docklands, Ireland’s largest urban regeneration project.
The site is expected to employ around 500 by 2025. A large number of other international cyber security and data management vendors are located in Cork, including BlackBerry and McAfee.
