Palo Alto Networks has teamed up with Amazon Web Services to offer a managed “next-generation firewall” (NGFW) cloud service, designed to “simplify securing” AWS deployments.
Cloud NGFW for AWS promises to ease customers' cloud deployments by shifting network security management to Palo Alto Networks.
The security service includes advanced URL filtering to help stop zero day web threats in real time, threat prevention to stop known vulnerabilities, and app-ID to reduce the risk of attack by controlling traffic based on patented Layer 7 traffic classification.
“A key reason that companies have embraced the cloud is that they want to concentrate on their core competencies and leave other tasks like infrastructure and underlying services to experts like AWS,” said Anand Oswal, senior vice president for network security at Palo Alto Networks. “Now, as cyber attacks continue to grow in frequency and sophistication, organisations are looking for network security that is as easy to deploy as other native AWS services.”
Stephen Orban, vice president for AWS Marketplace and control services, added: “Over the last year, we’ve worked closely with Palo Alto Networks to jointly develop a best-in-class cloud-native network security solution that helps customers speed their pace of cloud innovation.”
