Qumulo, the provider of hybrid cloud file data services, has appointed Craig Bumpus (pictured) as its first chief revenue officer (CRO), to help grow its service provider channel. Qumulo, a 100% channel-based vendor, helps organisations to make massive volumes of unstructured data available to applications on-prem and across multiple clouds, to help transform business operations and optimise data-driven workloads.
Craig Bumpus, who moves from Nutanix, will be responsible for accelerating Qumulo’s revenue growth as a data platform in both public and private clouds, and scaling a global organisation to service customers across the EMEA, Americas and Asia regions.
He brings more than 27 years of go-to-market, channel development, sales enablement, technical sales, operations and professional services experience to Qumulo. Prior to joining he was CRO at UiPath, a cloud-based SaaS leader in robotic process automation.
Craig Bumpus said: “Qumulo’s cloud and file software is unparalleled in its ability to support a wide variety of applications, to scale massively and to provide fast, data-driven insights to accelerate innovation and business outcomes. I see tremendous opportunity to grow and expand the business as organisations around the world look to leverage file services in the cloud and in the data centre.”
Before UiPath, he was the senior vice president of sales at Nutanix, where he was instrumental in transitioning the company from a hardware appliance provider to a cloud and SaaS solution supplier. He has also held numerous sales leadership positions at the likes of Cisco, Utimaco and EMC. The appointment follows the recent Qumulo additions of Barry Russell as senior vice president and general manager of cloud, and Michael Cornwell as chief technology officer.
Bill Richter, president and CEO at Qumulo, said: “We continue to invest in building a world-class executive leadership team with the right expertise, experience and tenacity to guide the company in its next stage of growth. Craig’s customer-first approach, extensive background and proven ability to lead and transform high-performance teams will be a tremendous asset.”
This February, Qumulo expanded its relationship with Arrow Electronics, which now distributes the supplier's products across EMEA, focusing on the vendor's key vertical end-user markets of healthcare, media and entertainment, research computing and the public sector. With Qumulo’s software, users have the flexibility to choose the best storage platform for their environment, including all-NVMe, flash-accelerated hybrid storage, active archive, hybrid cloud or cloud-native on Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Google Cloud Platform (GCP), it says.
