Resiliency is key in the "Next Normal", says IDC

An IDC Webcast this week titled 2020: The Year that Redefined Resiliency reveals the researcher’s latest thinking on where investments in IT in the EMEA region are being made and how they have changed. Its key theme was the emergence of digital resiliency as business and IT resiliency converge.

It means that IT risk analysis, security and a need to restart IT investment are in the minds of enterprise senior management. It warns of a sluggish recovery for the IT business as a whole, although Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), cloud providers and those in services continue to see positive revenue growth.

The issues for the near future – what IDC calls the Next Normal - will be marked by volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity (VUCA), and IDC will continuity to develop the digital resiliency measurement in its forecasts.

It is not just a question of technology delivering solutions, but aspects of trust and value being made clear.
