Ricoh has expanded its European IT services capabilities again with the acquisition of MTI Technology, which employs over 200 staff across the UK, Germany and France.
The acquisition will enable Ricoh customers to gain access to MTI Technology’s expertise and competencies in cyber and data security, data centre modernisation, IT managed services and IT transformation services.
Last month, Ricoh Europe bought two companies in Germany and Poland to boost its digital services offering, acquiring Dusseldorf company DataVision to expand its AV, collaboration and workplace technology services; and also buying Warsaw IT services firm SimplicITy.
MTI Technology said its customers will benefit from Ricoh’s global visibility, continuous support, financial capacity, IT infrastructure and international area of influence. They will also have access to Ricoh's product portfolio, including document management, business process services, printing solutions and workplace management.
MTI Technology will continue to operate under its existing name as a separate Ricoh entity. Alberto Mariani, senior vice president for office services at Ricoh Europe, said: “This acquisition is a genuine game changer in the IT services space and fits perfectly with Ricoh’s strategy to transform into a digital services company.
“MTI Technology has a very strong and capable board of directors and European management team and they will all maintain their current roles and responsibilities. Their expertise, along with the company’s existing portfolio of services, further widens our offer to customers.”
Scott Haddow, CEO of UK-headquartered MTI Technology, said: “Our mission is to help customers accelerate digital transformation by modernising their IT systems and refining IT operations, with security assurance as standard and privacy by design. Becoming a Ricoh company means we can take this to the next level.”
Previous Ricoh acquisitions in IT services include Ridgian, Techno Trends, NPO Sistemi, LAKE Solutions, IPM, TotalStor, Mauden and Orbid.
