Securing customer-managed environments and revenues for MSPs

SSH is a European Defensive Cybersecurity pioneer that provides secure communications solutions for some of the most demanding customers in, for example, finance, government, banking, and industrial sectors. Their Privileged Access Management (PAM) offering PrivX witnessed 200% YoY growth this year as the security vendor seeks more Managed Service Providers (MSP) to offer the solution as a managed service.

”SSH’s PAM service gives MSPs the capability to improve access to customer environments, simplify access administration, and maximise revenue opportunities,” David Wishart (pictured), VP Global Professional Services and Partnerships, told IT Europa.

“Our MSPs have developed their solution offering provide PAMaaS using PrivX. That's one way that MSPs are making revenue, they can offer PrivX as an OEM offering to their customers as a managed service,” he said.

“They can also resell PrivX deployed on-premise and run it as a managed service. MSPs like it over traditional PAM because of the low Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). The solution is very dynamic, adjustable, and fast to deploy which makes maintenance and configuration tasks easy for MSPs.”

”PrivX also simplifies the processes around customer onboarding,” Wishart noted.

“Whenever a user logs into PrivX, they only ever see what they've been configured to access, meaning it's effortless to onboard new customers. It's also easy to onboard new users and offboard users,” he said.

PrivX has gained momentum with several large MSP customers in Europe including Fujitsu, Telia-Cygate & Teamwork using the PAM solution to improve the security posture of their customers’ environments.

“Some of our largest customers are actually MSPs,” added Wishart. “They use PrivX to provide secure access to their customer-managed environments.”

The solution was recently recognesed as an ‘Overall leader’ in KuppingerCole Analyst’s “Dynamic Resource Entitlement and Access Management Leadership Compass” where it was praised for its exceptional prowess in hybrid & multi-cloud environments, unique just-in-time (JIT) password-less authentication methods and scalability.
