Cloud data integration solutions vendor Talend has appointed Alan McFarlane as its partner manager for the UK and Ireland. McFarlane will focus on accelerating the adoption of Talend’s cloud solutions portfolio by building out its channel of cloud-first VARs, system integrators and distributors in the region, said the vendor.
“As a market cited for significant growth, Talend expects to see rapid take-up in demand for our end-to-end big data and cloud integration solutions through the scale and reach that a value-based network of cloud-first channel partners can provide,” Talend said.
McFarlane joins Talend from Insightsoftware where he held the position of business development manager, UK&I. His previous experience includes roles at Deloitte, Oracle, Unisys and Information Resources Inc. (IRI Software).
Patrick Booth, VP UK&I, Talend, said: “As someone who has had experience of both direct and channel sales, Alan will help us optimise the balance of our UK sales operation. This strategic appointment will help us achieve the growth we are targeting in this market and support the success of our partners and customers.”
McFarlane said: “The proposition which Talend can offer partners is completely different to all of the other established players within the big data and cloud industry. Its unique solutions portfolio can deliver huge value to customers by enabling continuous innovation in the cloud and compatibility with all of the relevant open source platforms.”
The Talend Partner Summit takes place in London on 15 October. Last year, US-headquartered Talend announced that it was opening new data centres in Dublin and Frankfurt to support its platform-as-a-service offerings, and help European customers meet their General Data Protection Regulation requirements by addressing data sovereignty demands.
