TD SYNNEX, incorporating the Tech Data operation, has signed a worldwide distribution agreement with major network as-a-service player Megaport.
The distributor will market Megaport’s global, private software-defined network platform to its partners.
“Bringing Megaport’s NaaS platform into the TD SYNNEX portfolio makes it easier for customers to modernise their network connectivity and connect quickly to leading cloud service providers,” said Rodney Foreman, chief revenue officer at Megaport. “TD SYNNEX’s global scale and reach, combined with their expertise in IT solutions, makes them an ideal partner to expand our channel relationships.”
“We are committed to delivering IT solutions to our customers that unlock their growth,” said Cheryl Neal, vice president of new vendor acquisition at TD SYNNEX. “Adding Megaport’s NaaS offerings to our vast portfolio of IT solutions enables our partners to do great things with technology, and will help accelerate their end customers' digital transformation initiatives.”
With the Megaport offering in the bag, TD SYNNEX is promising the channel and end customers improved network performance with reduced jitter and latency; reduced cloud egress costs to cloud on-ramps when compared to internet rates; and point-and-click network provisioning to support interconnection between branch locations, data centres, cloud providers and IT services without any hardware requirements.
It is also trumpeting real-time provisioning of virtual network infrastructure and interconnections, and secure, private hybrid cloud and multi-cloud connections to more than 360 service providers, over 700 enabled data centres and over 230 cloud interconnect points.
Last August, Megaport launched its PartnerVantage programme, to allow “easy” access to its network for distributors, managed service providers, system integrators, data centre operators and agents. The programme provides tools and resources that enable Megaport’s partners to manage all of their customer engagements, from quotation to provisioning and invoicing, from a single pane of glass.
In the network as-a-service market Megaport competes against the likes of PacketFabric, Equinix and PCCW.
