Tech access woes stunt growth in 48% of UK mid-sized firms

A new survey by ANS and YouGov reveals that 48% of UK mid-sized companies see their growth constrained by a lack of access to advanced technology.

The report, involving IT decision-makers from 240 businesses with 250 to 999 employees, shows a widespread belief (81%) that insufficient technology investment is a bottleneck for UK business expansion.

Amid economic difficulties and competitive pressures, concerns about lagging behind competitors (27%) and failing to meet growth targets (35%) are prominent.

CEO Richard Thompson (pictured) said: “All too often, mid-sized enterprises are left playing catch-up when it comes to accessing the best tech, while big corporations with greater financial resources continue to keep the advantage.

“Lacking budget, tech recruitment challenges and the need to keep prices competitive are just some of the barriers holding UK enterprises back.

“Our first Business Blockers report highlights an undeniable link between technology access and growth, but for every business, tech can be accessible, cost-effective and easy to manage long-term.

“Streamlining, simplifying and automating enterprise-grade technology ensures enterprises get rapid time to value, and accelerate their digital transformation.”
