Tuxera seeks to scale up with more partners

Last week’s IT Press Tour of Berlin, showcased a number of data storage and management opportunities for the channel, and we have already covered openings from Yuzuy, CunoFS by PetaGene and SimplyBlock. Here’s another firm looking to widen its channel footprint.

Tuxera has been around in one form or another for 30 years and is based in Finland. It provides secure storage management and networking software for embedded systems, and file-sharing software for enterprises, among other offerings.

It employs 140 globally, and already has distributors located in the UK, the Benelux region, China and Japan.

For the full-year 2022, automotive pulled in 49% of sales, with consumer electronics generating 22%. Its enterprise offering includes the Fusion File Share server message block solution for secure, concurrent file sharing.

For a company of its longevity, the total sales of the group were a relatively modest €25m last year, although this did jump from almost €19m in 2021, helped by a couple of small acquisitions.

Tuukka Ahoniemi (pictured), CEO of Tuxera, confirmed the company aimed to scale-up turnover through more partners.

Ahoniemi said: “It’s fair to say that previously we have focused on technology development. We are cash-rich and spend a lot on R&D, and will continue to do so while our top line growth continues.

“Our go-to-market is varied, and includes direct sales and those through hardware vendors and cloud service providers.”

As far as technology partners are concerned, Tuxera is already selling Fusion File Share to end customers through deals with software-defined storage vendors WEKA and storOne.
